It's odd to think
That though once we were friends
Your face could seem unfamiliar
And strange to think
That though we are far
We still could be so together
I remember laughs with you
Talking in the dark
I remember when I hid
So close and yet so far
My parents came to pick me up
You said I was there to stay
And now we wouldn't do that
But I look back at that day
And think,
How times have changed.

I wish I weren't so awkward with words because then I could tell you about how I like this poem because I understand, I think, exactly what that situation is like.
ReplyDeleteOh wait. I guess I did just tell you all of that.
